O' Nautral!

Not everyday can be a ultra-fab, 6 inch stiletto type of day. I like to wear all different styles of clothing and one of my favs is bohemian.

I'm cardigan crazed, i have soo many in different cuts, colors, and styles i think the're absolute necessities. I picked one with an Aztec inspired look here. I'm a very visual person and i love quirky tee's so i add them to whatever the look is. I opted for a kitten heel bootie and matching bag.

I love a good maxi skirt- it's so versatile, can be dressed up or down it a definite staple or any wardrobe. I like to contrast color a lot so an orange skirt = purple and blue accessories. Complete the look with a quilted, geometric patterned purse and cut-out leather sandal.

Neon Niceties!

Punch up your outfit with a pop of neon or light up a room with an all neon outfit.

I actually like combining two colors that people normally wouldn't wear together and make it work. As long as the colors are all the same hue (soft, bold) don't be afraid to combine colors that "clash"- its chic, sexy, and playful. Its fun to experiment with different styles and colors. I always say this but not every piece of clothing or jewelry has to be expensive to create an expensive looking outfit. Its all about how you put it together! Happy hunting!

Stud Muffin!

Add rocker edge to your wardrobe with studs. This first look is evening and studded out from head to toe. A dress by BodyCon with Alexander McQueen clutch and shoe. Fabulous, it's ultra-sexy and ready to rock! Second is a more casual day outfit- I chose Black Lunar studded cut off short and matched them to BOY London eagle tee. For the shoe i picked either the Jeffery Campbell (hot right now) Lita ankle boot or a red spiked loafer-- which is trendy right now so with not too much effort, you'd be able to find that on the cheap. And finally we have a white stud trim bustier by Misslefridge, Lavin embossed sateen skirt, Guiseppe Zanotti bow detail heel, and  Rebecca Minkoff purse. Bottom right i found a model in an outfit i LOVE! Cat-eye frames, shoulder cut out blouse, buttoned to the top with stud detail on the collar, and high waist short.

As always happy hunting ladies...

Fun With Nail Art!

Hey out there! I see y'all like my post about the nail art. I just started getting very abstract with my nail art. It give me an outlet to release some tension and not to mention looking freaking awesome! lol
I love working on crafts or creating things, making stuff and ripping seams and re-working. So from doing things like that, over so long, my hand has become very steady and that is the most important part of getting the look down. Ken attention to detail- in addition to only doing very small strokes/lines at a time is essential. I haven't yet thought about how to properly show the process to you guys and break the steps to you, short of making a video. For the time being I'll just do a look of the week and you can try it at home or you can show the picture to your nail tech.

I don't know if you guys knew this but, its illegal in the united states to manufacture neon colored nail polish.. FDA says its some type of safety issue. So I've found, generally, that is difficult to find those bright, electric shade that don't require numerous coats. Keep that in mind as your looking for colors with the thin brush to do these designs at home. Patience is definitely a virtue because it it took me 4 coats on each little line of green to get the shade just right.

-Good luck girls!

Aqua Babe!

Its that time! Bikini season is upon us. Whether you're hitting the pool or seeking sand there's a style out there to compliment every figure and taste.

First is a casual look- if your body is somewhere between bikini and one piece may i suggest a high-waist bikini. This vintage look is hot and it also does wonders with the ruching to hide any trouble spots. Next I have the monokini, I've picked one with a playful ruffle. Its cute and adds a little coverage for a little modesty. Lastly a stringy bikini, I'm all for flaunting it if you've got it. The extra hardware on the brief puts a sexy spin on this one that's sure to wow at any pool party.

Don't forget to protect your best feature-- your face! I love a large floppy hat IN ADDITION to a sunscreen with high SPF. Wrinkles honey! The best plan is always prevention.

Bird is The Word!

Happy Monday!! Hope everyone had a great weekend...

I'm fascinated with feathers. From street chic to romantic elegance, feathers glam up and add texture to any look. I've put together a day and evening ensemble.

I love high-waisted shorts and paired them with a fun cropped, graphic tee. its a simple outfit where I added the feather element in the accessories- did the necklace and shoe... you could also do a braided headband (hippie style) with feather accents.

For the evening I chose a dress with a feathered skirt. Very flirty- I love it! I added a strappy, nude heel with crystal embellishments to compliment it. You're going to want to keep the accessories basic because the dress is making the statement. Stream lined clutch and delicate stacked rings and studs go with the flow. Keep your hair off the shoulders- you don't want to cover up any details.
I decided to do outfits instead of my fav pieces to show how I would style the look. Hope you guys like it!

Fringe Fantasies!

This is one of my absolute favorite looks. Its flirty and playful and can be incorporated with a shoe, top, or bag. As far as "doubling-up", i don't see a problem with it. I would totally do a dress and shoe in fringe- I'd keep the rest stream lined- from bag to jewelry through to make-up and hair. People might think you got caught up in a paper shredder, lol! Do what works for.. a simple fringe flat may be enough for your style. Remember cheap tires... you can get a simple fringe bandeau top at the mall for 10 bucks. --Happy hunting girls!

Born in the U.S.A.!

I'm loving all things Americana. Its very "now" and can be caught on your favorite celebrities. Its not only meant to be worn the week of the 4th of July. I would only do one piece to an outfit-- you wouldn't want to look like an American flag walking down the street-- and keep the rest muted, let the flag element be the focal point.

I'm all about being an individual and creative with my style. I live in a small town and I hate that everyone shops from the same three stores. To me, it lacks imagination. So open your mind and and expand your fashion horizons!! And as always, happy hunting!

Thank You!!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU everyone!! I truly appreciate y'all stopping by to see my blog. I'm a newly minted fashion blogger so I would love some feedback or comments if you have time! Like... if you'd like to see complete outfits or more "crafty" kinds of things, like the nail art for example. Again, THANK YOU!! I love fashion, and this is a little, big step for a single mom like me to start pursuing my dream of being in the fashion industry.

Sheer Genius!

I love, love, LOVE all things sheer. Show a little with a sheer panel cardigan, or show a lot with sheer blouse and matching sheer bra. For the all sheer top look, I'd advise keeping the top buttoned ALL the way up and putting a statement necklace on top to avoid looking like you're "on the stroll", lol!

From flats to pumps to booties, a sheer shoe is a fun and sexy summer look. I've had a few friends who have worked at department stores and they always had to have a clear cosmetics bags for a purse... well no more! Because its summer many designers have sheer panel bags available that are moderately priced, and come in an assortment of candy colors. Don't be afraid to let the world see who you are, start small and cheap with a pair of sheer tights (I've seen them as low as $7.00). Keep it classy... and happy hunting!

Fun With Nail Art!!

I have ADD when it comes to my nails. I'm always changing my color or design and i like experimenting with different patterns and shapes. Do experiment with textures, i.e. crackle paint, it instantly adds flare to your look. I also recently done my toes (photo'd) which is a fun look too.

Ive found that to really get the salon look, a keen attention to detail is a must. Sharp, clean lines are imperative. Here's a few tips I've learned along away:
  1. This one is obvious, but often over looked- make sure your base coat has completely dried before proceeding to either another coat or your design- I know we've all had those little bubbles in the paint before.
  2. To create the design like the ones pictured above you will need a polish with a thin brush, pictured below.
  3. Nail polish tends to get thick or a little clumpy so pick up nail polish thinner at your local beauty supply to help keep lines thin and smooth.

50 Shades Of Gray

Sky high red bottoms? Ripped jeans that hang off the hip? I don't know about you but I'm getting excited already. Weather you like clean, classic and structured style or have edgy, rocker chic tastes its easy to get your palm twitching with a good gray piece that can be incorporated into any look.

I love a "boyfriend" (slouchy) cut ripped/distressed jean cuffed with something like a toms loafer or glam it up with a heel. I also the idea of having a complete, head to toe monochrome outfit, very contemporary- like Kim Kardashian's been doing lately. The key to pulling that off is to not have any print, definitely play with various textures. Anyone that knows me knows I love to have a funky twist in my outfit, that one kooky piece- and I love the shark backpack. While I adore bold, statement jewelry my usual day to day look consists of a good pair of stud earrings, thin bracelet, and a few plain jane rings- I think that less is more. Welp, there you have it ladies, happy hunting.

Cream Dreams

In every wardrobe a good nude, blush, or cream piece is a must. A nude shoe goes a long way, and can be paired with practically anything whether it be wedge, flat, or sky high pumps. Follow your animal instinct and make it street chic with a snake print tee and your favorite sneakers or for just a touch of print borrow your boos’ snakeskin brim fitted hat.

All the buzz this summer is studded shorts- they instantly add edge and can easily be dressed up or down depending on where your going. A blazer adds sophistication to any look- there are countless cuts, so be sure to try a few different styles on and find one that compliments your shape

Add a little color block to your sunblock

This trend may be a little tricky to perfect but it’s nothing that a little time and full length mirror couldn’t cure.  The key to this trend is to make sure your hues are all in the same family: neons, bold colors, or subtle sorbets. Do stay away from colored pieces with prints as it would appear too busy to the eye.

Not ready to drive in? stick a toe in to gauge the temperature- literally.  Start with a sandal (with summer upon us there are many wallet conscience options available) then add an accessory in a contrasting color, and a shirt from closet in a different third color, pair with your favorite denim shorts and you’re ready to turn heads!

Let graphic prints and rich colors spice up your wardrobe. Ease into this trend with a tribal maxi dress with a nude shoe or simply add a funky necklace or bold bracelets to a v-neck tee and your favorite jeans. Want to edge it up a bit? Cuff those jeans and accent with a cool shoe. Create chic drama and do a head to toe look.  Theres nothing wrong with mixing medias a la Solange Knowles or June Ambrose.
